Psalm 25: 1-10
In you, LORD my God,
I put my trust.
2 I trust in you;
do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
3 No one who hopes in you
will ever be put to shame,
but shame will come on those
who are treacherous without cause.
4 Show me your ways, LORD,
teach me your paths.
5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
6 Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you, LORD, are good.
8 Good and upright is the LORD;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
9 He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful
toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.
READING:
Oh, God as you heard the cry of Israel in exile, hear our cry from hope deferred from generation to generation.
Deliver us from the pain of injustice in systems built to punish some for mere existence.
Deliver us from the cruelty and despair of disease, illness, and death
Deliver us from loss of love, promises broken, futures altered.
You have promised that where darkness and sin abound, your favor and, love abound more.
Save us from disbelief that your promises will come to pass.
We rest in your promise of a new heaven and a new earth.
We have hope that your will is done on earth, as it is in heaven in every sphere of earth-life that we, your people manifest your divine will and purpose.
Lord, restore our hope.
We rehearse again, meditate, mumble to ourselves in the darkness awaiting sonlight
All those who put their trust in God will not be put to shame
All those who put their trust in God will not be embarrassed.
Shame will come on the treacherous
Shame will come on the treacherous
I HOPE in you, Lord all day long. I hope in you God
All those who put their trust in God will not be put to shame
The verdict is in, and God has been found faithful, from everlasting to everlasting, God is God.
All those who put their trust in God will not be put to shame!
PRAYER
God, you are the same today, yesterday, and forever. Thank you that those who hope in you will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Let us not grow weary in well-0doing. Deliver us from the temptation of self-reliance to bring your will and your kingdom on earth.
Dear God, most high and holy, renew our hope in your promises.
Though it may take years, remind us that you live outside of time as we know it and a day Is like a thousand years to you.
Your promises will come to pass.
We wait patiently for you Lord,
Our hope is in you, Lord God, and in Christ, who saves us from impatience and hopelessness.
Thank you, Lord or renewing our hope daily.
In Jesus, you Christ and our Righteous and justice Savior’s name we pray. Amen
